Hey beauts. Recently my mum gave me a bunch of Clinique samples that were given to her when she bought their 'Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector'. Obviously she wasn't interested in trying them so she gave them all to me :)

I don't really buy Clinique. I've only ever tried their 3-Step Sets but I don't think I got the correct skin type.

When I can afford to, I do want to go back to Clinique and purchase the 3-Step Sets again and hopefully the advisor will recommend the right skin type this time!

Sample Arrival: Face Atelier Ultra Foundation in #9 Toffee..♥

I am very sorry that I haven't got back to you about the Face Atelier Ultra Foundation. It's just that I am still trying to find a perfect colour match and avoid purchasing two foundations because I do not want to deal with the stress of mixing though these foundations have been developed for you to do that.

In search of a colour match, I kindly received a sample of #9 Toffee from the lovely people at Coco Beau. They had a look at the pictures on my blog and recommended I had tried this shade.

I must say, the arrival of the sample was very prompt and they have such great customer service. It took me by surprise when it arrived.

Coco Beau is a website that stocks the Face Atelier Ultra foundation in all shades including 'Heat', 'Zero Minus', 'Zero Plus' and 'Zero Plus Plus' which are used to alter shades.

They also sell samples of the foundation for £1.45 which I think is brilliant for anyone like me who is unsure of their colour.

Since it has arrived, I have only been able to try out #9 Toffee shade once. I feel it may be a little on the red side and suit people of MAC NW better but I will give it another go and probably do a FOTD to see what everyone thinks.

I realised that there was no point me showing you the YSL lipsticks if I wasn't going to swatch them so you can see what the colours looked like.

GUESS WHAT..

My mum decided to swap lipsticks with me as I liked her purchase and she liked mine. I was so happy as I had been keeping my eyes on her #10 Provocative Pink lippy. =)

She has fallen in love with these lipsticks so much that she went out and purchased another YSL lipstick. This time she bought the Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in #25.

I'm really tempted to purchase the Rouge Volupte in #3 Ultimate Beige. What do you think?

Hello everyone

I'm here again to show you my most recent purchase which has been on my wishlist for ages but I never actually wanted to spend that amount on a lipstick =/

BUT I gave in. I just couldn't resist. The packaging just looked so elegant and classy *sigh*

It's such a beaut and I'm sure I will not be using it everyday. It just seems like a lipstick you pull out during a special occasion lol.

I wasn't too sure what colour to buy and to be honest I wasn't fussed either. I ended up purchasing 'Pink Caress' and my mum bought it in 'Provocative Pink'.

Now looking at it, I want 'Provocative Pink' and I'm quite jealous but I guess I can purchase it in the future.

Oh yeah! These smell lovely :)

Looks like I'm on a roll today with my posts lol.

I mentioned the other day that I popped down to my local MAC counter. Whilst there, I managed to get MAC 'Ruby Woo' and 'Shy Girl' lipstick' which have been on my wishlist. My mum bought the 'Runaway Red' from the MAC Me Over collection but I thought I'd blog about it anyway so you'd have an idea of the colour in case you were interested.

As well as the lippies, I picked up the Studio Sculpt Concealer which I usually use to perfect my eyebrows.

I also ordered Burt's Bees Weatherproofing Lip Balm as we are approaching the colder months and my lips need protecting and moisturising.

MAC Runaway Red

This lipstick is perfect for the A/W 2011 make up trend! You can really create that vampy lip look with this shade. I should have bought one myself. It's my mums first MAC lippy :)

I've wanted this shade for a while now (after seeing it on other people and absolutely loving it) so I've finally bought it. It was on my 'Wishlist' page and now I can finally cross it off :)

This is another colour that was on my wishlist. The day I went into MAC this week was the first time me seeing it in real life. It's a nice peachy nude.

This is the concealer I regularly purchase to neaten my brows after filling them in. I use the shade NC50.

Burt's Bees Weatherproofing Lip Balm

I've never purchased any Burt's Bees products before. I bought this to use under my lipsticks so that my lips are protected and do not dry out and also to use in the colder months. I hope its good!

Hey beauts! I was starting to get bored of the Essie - Van D'go and I wanted something more subtle and neutral as I was tired of my bright finger nails. I decided I wanted to paint my nails using Models Own - Nyla Nude. I've had it at home for a while now but I've never actually picked it up to use so I just thought I'd give it a go.

I would say it was more of a peachy nude than what it appears to be in the pictures above. They're not really doing the polish any justice and looks much nicer in person.

This nail polish is a bit on the runny side therefore if you're not careful, it may apply messily. It took two coats to get an opaque finish.

How is everyone? If you're in England, I hope you're enjoying the hot weather because I'm sure it won't last for long!

Today was like 25°C or more so it was quite hot compared to the weather we've had here in England for the past month or so. I had a BBQ to attend and wasn't too sure of what foundation to put on. My Estee Lauder

Double Wear Foundation has always been a bit too dark but it's becoming very noticeable now as my skin is getting lighter and looking healthier. As it was a hot day, I needed the lasting power of the DW (Double Wear) foundation but in a lighter shade so I mixed my DW 6N1 Truffle with my Face Atelier Ultra #10 Cocoa sample. If you look at the picture above, it's not the perfect match but it was manageable :)

I just wanted to show you how the two foundations look when mixed together. I must say, this combination lasted all day even through the heat! I'm actually wearing it now and it still looks perfect.

Primer: Milk of Magnesia (T-Zone) and MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage

MAC Matchmaster Foundation Update..♥

Hello beauties!

It's been a little while since I posted something. Can you believe we're in September already!

Anyway, I popped into my local MAC counter to have a look at the new collections. To be honest, I only really went there to get some lipsticks and to have a quick look at the new Matchmaster Foundation. I got there like 20mins before closing time so I didn't really get a chance to have a look at everything properly so I might head back next week.

I wasn't able to get colour matched to the new foundation as it was nearly closing time but I had a look at the colours 7.0 and 8.0 (not realising there was a 7.5 shade). Although they adjust to your skin tone, 7.0 looked a little to light and 8.0 looked a little too dark so next time I go, I think I'll have a look at 7.5 and maybe get a sample. This foundation is going to be permanent so I'm in no rush to be honest. I wasn't able to get a sample today as they said there wasn't any available but hopefully when I pop in again, they'll have some.

BUT the point of this post really was to give you a rough idea of the shade numbers compared to MACs original shades!
